The Atlanta Whitewater Club (AWC) was founded by a dedicated group of Atlanta's kayakers and canoeists to provide educational services and events that increase the enjoyment, safety and skills of paddlers at every level of the sport. AWC meets the first Tuesday of each month - CLICK HERE for directions.
Most of the club's members use our Yahoo! Groups message board to stay in touch. Click on the link below to join!

I created the AWC website with the intention of reducing our dependency on Yahoo Groups - with the ads, SPAM, and the like. The website has been up for about a year now. There are 279 registered users - 130 topics with 138 replies (63 of which were mine). In the same amount of time, the Yahoo Groups website has had about 4300 posts.
Please help me decide the fate of the AWC website (maybe try posting a comment here). If you just want a basic informational website - we could go back to that.

We are having our annual club picnic this Saturday at the River Campground. Mike Farrell will be frying up a turkey and Mack Anthony will be making a low country boil. Please bring a side to share. I plan on making a huge vat of mashed potatoes! We have a cabin rented for kitchen use if you need to prepare food. We have also reserved campsites which are $5 per person.
The picnic will begin about 5pm.
Directions for River campground are below:
85N to 985N. Pass through Hall, White and Habersham Counties. 985 becomes 441. Continue through Tallulah Falls. Three miles after Tallulah, River Campgoround will be on the left. For more info, check out www.rivercampground.com.
Looking forward to it!
